Images and words from Beijing by a Sydney-based British journalist. Most photos were taken with an old Leica III or a Contax IIa, using print film or slides.
Hedda Morrison was am amazingly talented German photographer who lived in Peking from 1934-1946. This is one of her pics taken with her Rolleflex.
Lovely photographs...hers and yours. And am very much enjoying working my way through your other blogs....I see you have some method of posting slide images. Is it a secret or would you share? I am longing to be able to 'digitalise' my slides from my first OE mumble years ago...-Katherine
I use a creaky old Minolta Dimage slide scanner, which I one day hope to replace with a new Epson D500 - that also scans medium format (ie Rolleiflex 6 x 6cm) negatives ...Slides digitise very well but it's quite labour intensive if you have a lot. A single film of 36 slides would take me about an hour or so.cheersMichael
Fascinating photos - not sure which intrigue me more, the places or the people.
